Terracotta tasting cups, glazed inside, perfect for sipping small amounts of tea.
These very small cups, which we are not very accustomed to in the West, are actually very common in the East because teas are prepared in equally small teapots or gaiwan (up to 120 ml) with multiple infusions.
This means that with the same leaves, at least 6-7 infusions are made, a tea preparation technique called gong fu cha 工夫茶
In short, it involves using a lot of leaves (about 6-7g for 150ml), very short infusion times (about 30’’), and repeated infusions.
